I am so glad I got to see my grandpa Allen this summer! He just passed away this morning at around 4 a.m. Grandpa was a great man and will be missed very much. I remember when grandpa took me up to girls camp when I was 13 or 14, he was the priesthood leader that week and it was such a fun week with him. Grandpa was cool, he was always there when we would walk to his house from school. He would always invite us in with a hug and a smile and give us treats to eat. I also remember going hiking with him. Grandpa loved to hike. He loved his rocking chair in the corner that was positioned perfectly at the T.V. and grandma would have a little bald figurine next to him with big red felt lips on his bald shiny head. I used to love looking at and playing with that as a little girl. Grandma and grandpa were great grandparents, I am so blessed to have had them in my life. Grandma passed away on Jan 19 2007, just a few days before my beautiful angel Missoni was born, I was so depressed because I couldn't go to the funeral. I still had 3 weeks until my due date, I really wanted to go. It was a good thing I didn't because I went into labor and had her the night of the viewing. I know that grandma was there with me in the hospital at least, holding my hand. I am glad for that knowledge. I also know now that grandma and grandpa are together again. They were sealed in the temple and I know they are rejoicing in there reunion. Grandpa started getting really sick again last week, so the whole family went down to see him. That is when he decided that he had had enough of this life and didn't want to keep doing all of the meds to keep him alive, he was just going to let nature take its course, well he died peacefully this morning at my uncles house. I will miss you grandpa! I love you!
This summer was great! Chris got an internship at the Department of Commerce working in the international trade administration, in Washington D.C., so Missoni and I didn't want to sit at home alone all summer, so of course what did we do? We got on a plane and headed around the country. I counted up the number of one way flights that Missoni has been on since she first flew at 5 months, and it was 30 flights. She is a pro, that is why I do it so much. (not to mention she is still free!) No really, flying with Missoni is a breeze, she just falls right asleep. Chris and I were sad to part this summer. I took him down to the Grey Hound station, and off he went to D.C. Later that week on May 29th I headed back down to Fl. After arriving, I met up with Tif to go over to Sam's baby, Gaby's, baptism. It was lovely getting to see all of the Andisco family. Missoni and I then spent 2 1/2 weeks exclusively playing with Oma. She took us to the mall, beach, green cay, pool and lovely restaurants. It is always such a treat to stay with her. Then we spent a week with my parents at a resort in Weston. That was great, we went to the pool everyday and spent time playing with Londyn and Grandma. Grandpa came down on Thurs and then Brandi and Gary came in on Friday. We were all there for the celebration of Brock and Tiffinie and baby Bryce. Brock was graduating and little Bryce was getting blessed. After the whole Allen side flew out that Monday, Grandfather Thompson and his lovely wife grandmother Hanna drove down from Alabama with Les. So Missoni got to spend a few days with them before we were back on another jet heading into Washington D.C. to see a very lonely daddy! So that was our busy 5 weeks in Florida. Oh how I love Florida!

So those of you from Syracuse that read this blog, please don't take offense to this, but Chris and I have not taken the time to step too far outside of the city limits to appreciate all of the surrounding beauty. So we thought Syracuse was kinda lousy. I mean with the patches of ghetto and ultra cold weather and all. But when we came back this summer we decided to have a new attitude and promised to start exploring more and enjoy the area. So that is what we did and we were very pleasantly surprised. Chris' friend suggested we go up to Green Lakes State Park. It was breathtaking. It had this long path that went around the lake. It took us a couple of hours to walk it but it was so much fun. It was a beautiful labor day. Chris even wanted to come back to go camping. He really wanted to get more of the outdoors. The cool thing was that right when we got there we ran into this family of Filipino's that offered us pork barbecue, and as any of you that know Chris, he was in heaven. I didn't realize that I had my camera, because even Missoni was holding her own stick of pork and chowing down on it. It was hilarious, she is a true Filipino. Then we took our walk to work off all of those pork calories. What a great day!

We went to Orlando Temple!
Chris and I were sealed to eachother and then to Missoni in the Orlando Temple. I have no words to describe the wonders of the temple and how we felt on this day. They brought Missoni in to the sealing room in her white dress and the entire room burst into tears. Even people who had come into view the sealing that didn't know us were crying. It was amazing. My mom and dad were there, Chris' bro, Les and his wife Kim, and Tiff and Brock. It was a very special day. I love my family so much and so grateful for the great sealing power of the temple.
Boy meets girl in South Florida!
This is the Thompson Family love story. We should have started our blog a long time ago. So to make up for it, I am going to start back to the time I met Chris and move forward to now! Enjoy reading about our love story and how we are now doing as we make the LONG journey through Law School in Syracuse, New York! We now have a wonderful, beautiful busy 18 month old. We love her and she is the light of our lives!
We had a wonderful time down in South Florida......
We loved living in Ft. Lauderdale. Chris and I had nothing but a shabby studio apartment when we got married, but we loved it. It was so nice to see Chris ever day, while I finished up my degree at the Art Institute. He was working for Franklin Templeton and I was so busy with my thesis but we still found time to get away to the Botanical Gardens in the Gables, and Naples on the west coast. We had so much fun together our first year of marriage. Maybe too much fun, thats when I found out I was pregnant about 3 months after being married, with the biggest blessing in our life, Missoni, our gorgeous, lovely baby girl.
Art and Graduation
I graduated from the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale in March, 2006. I am now and Interior Designer and worked for a very established and wonderful Italian kitchen company for over a year until we moved to New York. Here is my thesis and some graduation pictures.
